Everyone had a wonderful time making yuzu manju together in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

On November 23, I held a wagashi-making workshop at an international community event.
This time, we made a seasonal nerikiri sweet shaped like âmomijiâ (autumn maple).
A family visiting from the United States joined us, so the entire lesson was conducted in English.
Everyone focused quietly on their work, and the peaceful atmosphere left a strong impression on me.
The children excitedly said, âI want to eat it now!â while shaping their sweets with great enthusiasmâsome even enjoyed theirs right away, unable to wait for tea time.
It was a heartwarming experience, and Iâm glad the family who came from abroad also enjoyed it.
I will continue to host wagashi experience workshops like this, so please stay tuned!

Lemon Kuzuyaki
At my familyâs request, I made lemon-flavored kuzuyaki.
Kuzuyaki is a simple traditional sweet made by coating kuzumochi (arrowroot starch cake) with rice flour and lightly grilling the surface on a hot plate. Personally, Iâm not a big fan of kuzuyaki, but my family was delighted with it.
The tartness of the lemon juice turned out stronger than I expected, and I thought it made for a refreshing flavor thatâs perfect for summer.
